2.28.04In Chicago, in February, if it gets above 50 degrees people come out and play golf in shorts. Spring might not be far off. Let's hope so, my gas bill this month was brutal. |

2.17.04Happy birthday to me! Yes, shameless promotion of my own birthday on a Web site that is all about me. The girls and I, and Danny who took this picture, dined at the swank SWK in River North. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to prepare a table for us by the fireplace. I had a nice birthday. |

2.13.04Went for sushi in Lincoln Park with a big group of friends. Pictured here is a sushi boat, set to sail into my stomach. Sushi is one of those foods (along with chocolate) that I just can't get enough of. I could consume a heck of lot of unagi and dragon rolls. Problem is, my wallet would be empty before I was full...saving room of course for red bean ice cream. And, yes, we are sitting on the floor. |

2.12.04 Chicago Auto ShowCruised by the Auto Show. I haven't been to one of these since I was a kid. Back then, I ran around trying to get more brochures than my brothers. Going to an auto show as an adult was even more boring. Of course I'm not really the target audience. I don't own a car. I take public transportation. The poet in me did appreciate the alliteration in the Lexus display and the people watching is fantastic. I would like to have seen more concept cars, and been able to sit in some of the higher end cars. Do I have to show up in a mink coat, hauling a giant Louis Vuitton handbag before they let me sit in a Maserati? "Where did my driver run off to? Driver!" |

2.11.04Field trip! I got to leave cube-land for a few hours today to accompany a colleague on one of her training presentations. We only went as far as the Chicago suburbs. Oh when will my job send me on business to Hawaii?! |
2.3.04 CTA Train CrashDid you see the CTA train crash on the news? I was there...actually on one of the trains.
There was blood. I was given a free transfer to compensate for the inconvenience. Thanks CTA.
Eventually we filed through to the back of the train and climbed down
onto the tracks. CTA workers helped us get across the infamous third rail and walk back along the track to the Mart platform.
I feel horrible for the people who were hurt. The whole experience seemed very odd. Suddenly people on the train were passing out
kleenex, loaning cell phones, exchanging business cards...well maybe that was just me so that I could email people their injury photos for insurance claims.

2.1.04Last night my posse went to see All's Well That Ends Well at the Viaduct Theater. Amanda Archilla gave an excellent performance. After, we headed out to test the theory that it was in fact possible to play pool in a strapless dress. |
