9.25.04Photo by Dan. That's not me climbing, it's Sheryl. Yay! Go Sheryl. A bunch of us went up to Devil's Lake Wisconsin for some rock climbing. Everybody rocked the climbs. The weather was beautiful, the food was good, Garrett was pretty well behaved :) Thanks to REI who stayed open late on Friday and Sunday so we could rent shoes (16 pairs!). And let me recommend Merry Mac's Camp'n. They have great wooded sites and it was free ice cream weekend. |

9.18.04Jace and I spent the afternoon kicking around Hyde Park. After reading Devil In The White City about the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, I wanted to walk over the grounds and try to envision what it might have looked like. This was hard to do. The Museum of Science and Industry is about the only building that remains. But it's still a nice place for a walk and it takes you right by Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House. |

9.15.04That time of year again. Time to hit the lanes with the rest of the gang at CV. See the pink ball? Oh yeah, that one's mine! And nothing brings home the league trophy like bowling an average of 103 every game. |

9.11.04My boy...loves a lazy Saturday on the couch. |

9.10.04Welcome to the new Liz Log promotional line of products. Here is Liz Fuel. Great for reptilian dirtbikers. The rest of us might just want to drink it because we are thirsty...or maybe only because it is pink. Hmmm, 199, never knew Travis Pastrana was a lizard. Ahh well, SoBe it. |
|
9.9.04Our volleyball teams got together tonight for a cook out on Colleen's roof. Here's Amanda trying to cook, looks painful. Most of us will recognize this complicated dish as a tossed salad. |
|
9.6.04Jace and I spent some time this afternoon touring Elk City's museums. We saw the Route 66 Museum. And an old home that contained, among other old stuff, a rodeo museum. We got a personal tour of the farm implement museum. I think we went to Sonic three times today. And then we hit Walls Discount Store, where they had a great selection of half price books. |
|
9.3.04David threw Vicky a surprise birthday party tonight. The posse turned out with a cake and I brought Garrett. He went home with Vicky and David for a weekend of country fun in Bloomington, while I'm off to Oklahoma for Labor Day weekend. I'll miss my doggy, but I won't miss getting up a 6:30 in the morning for the next few days! |

9.1.04Looks like a rock climber, but that's not exactly a cliff...looks more like my office building. I was informed by a window washer recently that my office building is the hardest to wash in Chicago because the top creates an overhang, equivalant to climbing a 5.13. This same window washer told me that he had once heard a rumor that there was a female window washer, but he had actually never met her. Are you kidding me? Hmm, I wonder how much window washing pays... and if they need me to prove that I can pull a serious overhang. |
